For life? Maybe not.

People say secondary school friends are for life. But personally, I think replacing “friends” with “teachers” would be more apt. Not saying that friends are for life, but some do leave while some stayed.

Teachers are definitely different. Once you become their student, you are forever their student from that moment onwards and they remember you for life. Maybe they won’t remember exactly your name, but at least they do know who you are. Well, it is Teachers’ Day today and I am here again because something told me to “pen” down all my thoughts today in this post. Perhaps I might just become a teacher next time! Who knows and why not?

Teachers’ Day @ CCHY never fails to fill everyone with love, warmth and happiness.

Not even exaggerating.

Referring to the NY Confessions, there was one confession whereby the confessor said that after 2 years, he don’t really have a teacher who he respect or is close to. Well I guess that’s true to certain extent? Personally, my secondary school’s teachers are more impactful. JC life is just a short 2 years and people have differing views about it. But I doubt I will ever enjoy JC life as much as secondary school’s life. I love my secondary school teachers and I don’t only say it here. I say it to them. Really love the happy faces they showed me when they saw me and majority of the alumnus. They can go on and on about how much they love the classes and compare between different batches. I am glad, really glad that all my teachers enjoyed teaching my batch, my class. It is really just pure happiness when you see them still rejoicing over the good O’s results. They constantly tell you how many distinctions the class had, how fun and enjoyable it was, how much they miss you.  I miss you all too. I really miss secondary school so much.
I thank every teacher that has taught me before because you all made me who I am today, apart from my friends and family.

If it wasn’t for…..
·
  •     Ms Serena who constantly spurred me on, I wouldn't have done well for biology. Sadly, I didn't get to see her so here's a class photo back in 2012 on National Day.
  •    Mrs Goh who set difficult E-math papers to stretch our potential, I wouldn’t be coping well with math today at all.

  •    Ms Tan who introduced JC H2 Math topics to us during A-math lessons, I wouldn’t be coping well as well.
  •    Mr Tan who believed that I can do well for physics, I wouldn’t have gone from a D7 to a B3 within a short span of 1-2/3 months.
  •    Ms Norfida who taught me Chemistry well and introduced things in pure Chemistry that we did not learn in combined Chemistry, I wouldn’t be taking H2 Chemistry today.

  •    Ms Aggie who marked loads of essays for me before O level English, I would not have achieved the desired grade.
  •    Ms Kaur and Mr Yeo who have taught us humanities well too.

Apart from those, the most impactful teacher I believed to have existed is Ms Trixie Lim – the best geography teacher you can ever find on earth. It’s regretful that you left the school before we took our O levels, but you’ve taught us well and you will always be our best and funniest geography teacher! I still love you hehehe and your self-made notes have gone far to help even more geography students in CCHY! Another pleasant surprise was that the relief HCL teacher remembers me even though he taught us for less than a month or two when my own teacher was away for an operation.

Of course, all the gratitude can’t be fully expressed in words.

“Next time when you get married, must invite Mrs Goh okay?” //

“I am so glad you are doing well now” //

“Your HCL result was a pleasant surprise to me” //

“I didn’t see you but I knew you were in school!” //

“Must visit me for the next few years also okay?” //

All the conversations… Of course I will visit you all next year and the following year and many years down the road. I believe, I believe that JC teachers will not be as impactful as teachers in secondary schools, at least for my case. The moment when your own secondary school’s teachers wants to attend your wedding and when they gave you their blessings although we are only like 17 or 18 today. Just shows the kind of love they have for us. Teachers are the most wonderful people on earth, full of passion and love for their students. Of course I am not saying that JC teachers aren’t good. Just that they are not as impactful for my case, I reiterate once again.

I wish all teachers a VERY HAPPY TEACHERS’ DAY! I will bring you all nicer gifts next year I promise! ;-)

----------------------------------End of T’day section-----------------------------------

Most people don’t really stay in your life, or maybe I am just not as lucky to have met those who will stay. All the mushy words that we say to one another on Graduation Day 2012 seemed to have been gone with the wind. I guessed you have forgotten me, although you were the once who told me not to forget you. I didn’t, but you did. Or maybe I am just not that significant to you. For those who still treat me like how you did in 4F last time, I thank you all and I appreciate your behavior and actions towards me. You all made my day. For those who truly forgot me when you told me not to forget you, I only can say: I did not forget you, you did. I only can hope things can return to how they used to be, and people can be more innocent and less malicious and cold. Everybody seemed to have changed, just that some changed more, to the extent that I no longer “recognizes” them. Or maybe it is just me who’s stagnant. Perhaps it’s time to move on.
We all came to earth x years ago, alone. Maybe because of that fact, we will all leave earth, alone. Perhaps people will always be lonely. Or maybe it’s just me. J

All the maybe(s).
